The shoe displayed in the sample 1 shows a kind of the structures of the Xiyingmen cloth shoes. The cloth shoe has got common sole 3 and vamp 1. The heel 4 is made of several of layers of cloth. The cloth is 100% made from cotton. The making procedure of the cloth used in heel 4 is just the same as the making procedure on sole 3. It is a traditional way of sewing the cloth together with strong thread. In order to make heel 4 look more neatly. It is cut into a shape after sewed. Then heel 4 is wrapped with a piece of cloth which covers all over heel. The cover helps to make it look more beautiful. On the top of the heel 4, there is a layer of filler 2. The layer is made of cotton and cloth. The cotton contains the medicine of curing the beriberi. The cotton used to be immersed in the medicinal liquid. After drying out, the cotton is put into the layer of filler 2. The medicinal liquid we used is a specially made one for curing the beriberi.

　　　　　　
In addition: the soles and the heel of the shoes are made of the cloth. The whole process is hand-operated.

　　The shoes displayed in the sample 2 shows another kind of the structures of the Xiyingmen cloth shoes. It is almost the same as the one showed in sample 1. But the heel 4 is different. It is just like the high-heeled shoes. This kind of cloth shoes requires the heel to be strong enough to fit the height. We put the fillers into the heels to strengthen it. We put the wooden fillers 5 inside the heel 4 to support the heel. The filler is put inside between the two parts of the heels which were all made of layers of cotton cloth. All the procedures are hand-operated. As the same in sample 1, the heel 4 is wrapped with a piece of cloth which covers all over the heel.
